Thursday 2nd of April at 3 pm artist Kristinn G. Harðarson will talk to museum visitors in Icelandic about his work in the exhibition MEN.
The exhibition MEN focuses on the status of men at the beginning of the 21st century and the changes that have occurred in the circumstances of the revised status of women. The works in the exhibition raise important questions about masculinity and potentially conflicting signals from the environment and society. The key characteristic of these works, however, is the intimacy that can be read from the position of the artists to the family and the child and in some pieces there can be distinguished existential crisis. Works by four Icelandic male artists are on display, Curver Thoroddsen (b. 1976), Finnur Arnar Arnarson (b. 1965), Hlynur Hallsson (b. 1968) og Kristinn G. Harðarson (b. 1955).
