The Hafnarborg Songfest will take place for the sixth time from June 18th–July 10th 2022. The Songfest is dedicated to classical music, art song, opera and choral music. The mission of The Songfest is to celebrate vocal music and increase knowledge of the voice through concerts and courses.
At The Hafnarborg Songfest this year, there will be eight concerts, featuring outstanding vocalists and instrumentalists, in addition to a number of courses for children and adults, beginners as well as advanced singers. The founders and directors of The Songfest are Guðrún Jóhanna Ólafsdóttir, mezzo-soprano, and Francisco Javier Jáuregui, classical guitarist.

June 16th at 5 p.m
Hrafnhildur Árnadóttir Hafstað, soprano, Karin Björg Torbjörnsdóttir, mezzo-soprano, Oddur Arnþór Jónsson, baritone, Egill Árni Pálsson, tenor, Ragnheiður Ingunn Jóhannsdóttir, soprano, and Gunnlaugur Bjarnason, baritone, will perform Mozart, accompanied by pianist Eva Þyri Hilmarsdóttir.
June 19th at 5 p.m.
Barbörukórinn will perform newly written choir music, conducted by Guðmundur Sigurðsson.
June 23rd at 8 p.m.
Advanced and emerging singers participating in Diddú‘s Master Class perform songs and arias, accompanied by pianist Helga Bryndís Magnúsdóttir.
June 24th at 5 p.m.
Free Family Concert, featuring Jón Svavar Jósefsson, baritone, and Kristján Hrannar Pálsson, pianist, along with participants in music workshops for children connected with The Songfest.
June 25th at 5 p.m.
Alexander Jarl Þorsteinsson, tenor, Bjarni Thor Kristinsson, bass, Eyrún Unnarsdóttir, soprano, and Kristín Sveinsdóttir, mezzo-soprano, will host a special Opera Gala, accompanied by pianist Hrönn Þráinsdóttir.
June 26th at 5 p.m.
Herdís Anna Jónsdóttir, soprano, and Hildigunnur Einarsdóttir, mezzo-soprano, will debut a newly written work by Kolbeinn Bjarnason, to a poem by Steinunn Sigurðardóttir, along with Caput Ensemble, conducted by Guðni Franzson.
July 2nd at 5 p.m.
Hallveig Rúnarsdóttir, soprano, Guðrún Jóhanna Ólafsdóttir, mezzo-soprano, and Kolbeinn Jón Ketilsson, tenor, will perform Icelandic songs for solo voice, accompanied by classical guitarist Francisco Javier Jáuregui and pianist Sigurður Helgi Oddsson.
July 10th at 5 p.m.
