Saturday August 19th at 1-3 p.m., we invite families to join us for a weaving workshop in connection with Hildur Ásgeirsdóttir Jónsson’s exhibition, On a Sea of Tranquillity, currently on view at the museum.
During the workshop, participants will create their own woven artworks inspired by the works of Hildur. Participants will be instructed on how to make a cardboard loom that they can then take home. The workshop is open to children of all ages, as it does not require any prior experience in weaving or art-making. Materials will be provided by the museum. The workshop will be led by artist Ingunn Fjóla Ingþórsdóttir.
The workshop will take place on the ground floor of the museum and children shall be accompanied by their parent or guardian. As always, participation in workshops and entrance to the museum’s exhibitions is free of charge.
