Saturday May 27th at 1 p.m., artist Kristín Helga Ríkharðsdóttir will greet guests at the exhibition Uncanny Virtuality, offering insight into her own artistic practice and speaking of her work within the context of the exhibition. This weekend also marks the last days of the exhibition, as the final day to visit and experience the exhibition is Monday May 29th.
The exhibition presents works by six artists, working both in Iceland and internationally, exploring digital art, photography, the moving image, realism, and hyperreality. In these works, they comment on the disconnection, anxiety and irony that is unique to our current generation within a new-media world. Through a digital expression, they then find satire in many of the stresses of the 21st century.
Along with Kristín Helga, the participating artists are Meriem Bennani, María Guðjohnsen, Bita Razavi, Helena Margrét Jónsdóttir and Inari Sandell.
The exhibition is curated by Daría Sól Andrews.
Free entry – everyone welcome.
