Sunday 29th at 3 p.m. Florence Lam will do a live performance at Hafnarborg museum. The performance is made in connection to the exhibition Traces of Water now on view at the main gallery of the museum. -Note that the performace can only be performed if weather permits/ if sunny.
Florence Lam was born Vancouver, Canada in 1992 and grew up in Hong Kong. She obtained her BA in Fine Art at Central Saint Martins College of Art & Design in 2014, and is currently pursuing her Masters in Fine Art at Iceland Academy of the Arts. In her work, she places herself in a position where she is in control of the presentation while simultaneously being out of control of how the material performs, therefore creating an illusion of familiar intimacy, exposing the life within the materials as they interact with audiences.
Traces of Water is a group show of six artists that all work with some form of water in their works. Color, water and it’s evaporation is the core of the exhibition.
The artists on view are; Anna Rún Tryggvadóttir, Florence Lam, Harpa Árnadóttir, Hulda Stefánsdóttir, John Zurier and Margrét H. Blöndal.
Curators are Ágústa Kristófersdóttir and Birgir Snæbjörn Birgisson.
