Thursday February 26th at 6-8 p.m., we invite you to a publication launch in connection with Una Björg Magnúsdóttir’s exhibition Fill & spill, on view at the museum until March 1st.

The publication, which shares the exhibition’s title, includes texts by Lani Yamamoto and Ragnar Helgi Ólafsson, as well as an interview with the artist conducted by Páll Haukur Björnsson. It also features a selection of photographs from the exhibition, taken by Vigfús Birgisson.

The book is designed by Hrefna Sigurðardóttir and published by Hafnarborg, with support from the Artists’ Salary Fund and the Visual Arts Fund.

In the exhibition, Una Björg carves out a new space within Hafnarborg’s main gallery, weaving together the building’s historical and imagined timelines. Other works, including sculptures, images and works on paper created especially for the exhibition, form a subtle narrative that draws on the space’s inherent qualities, its materiality and light, its possibilities and limitations. The exhibition is curated by Þórdís Jóhannesdóttir.
