The Hafnarborg Songfest will take place for the tenth time from June 13th to June 28th 2026. The Songfest is dedicated to classical music, art song, opera and choral music. The purpose of the Songfest is to celebrate vocal music and increase knowledge of the voice through concerts and educational activities.
At the Hafnarborg Songfest this year, there will be eight concerts featuring outstanding Icelandic and international vocalists and instrumentalists, in addition to a number of courses for children and adults, beginners as well as advanced singers. The founders and directors of the Songfest are Guðrún Jóhanna Ólafsdóttir, mezzo-soprano, and Francisco Javier Jáuregui, classical guitarist.
