Friday September 5th at 6 p.m., the Sara Magnúsdóttir Quartet will perform as part of the Afternoon Concerts at Hafnarborg. Organist Sara Magnúsdóttir released her debut album, A Place to Bloom, on August 22nd with original compositions. At the concert, the quartet will perform the album in its entirety, along with a selection of jazz standards.

She has studied music in the United States in recent years and now lives in New York, though she returns regularly to Iceland to perform. Joining her are Jóel Pálsson on saxophone, Andrés Þór Gunnlaugsson on guitar and Einar Scheving on drums. All of them are well-established in Icelandic music, having released numerous albums and received the Icelandic Music Awards for their work.
The concert lasts for approximately one hour and admission is free.
The concert series is supported by the town of Hafnarfjörður.
