Winter Break Workshops – Let’s Make Flowers and Skrípó

Hafnarborg invites primary school children to participate in fun and creative workshops during the upcoming Winter Break, October 20th and 21st. These sessions are open to those who wants to unleash their creativity. The workshops will focus on different approaches, so children are welcome to attend either or both days.

Let’s Make Flowers
Thursday February 19th at 1-3 p.m.

In the workshop, participants draw inspiration from Eggert Pétursson’s exhibition Redden, which highlights colour, organic forms and a close relationship with nature. We will then create small, delicate flowers using fine wire and beads, exploring line, form and balance in a playful and imaginative way.

Skrípó Comic-Making
Friday February 20th at 1-3 p.m.

Writer and visual artist Atla Hrafney will lead participants into the world of comics, where they will try their hand at creating original characters, telling stories through images and text and developing ideas in a free and playful way. The workshop is ideal for those who are always drawing something fun or who would like to learn how to make humorous comics.

The workshop will take place on the ground floor of the museum and we ask that children attend accompanied by parent(s) or guardian(s). As always, participation in workshops and entrance to the museum’s exhibitions is free of charge. Everyone welcome.
