Sunday September 29th at 2 p.m., artist Elín Sigríður María Ólafsdóttir will welcome guests at her exhibition “We See What We Want to See”, currently on view at Hafnarborg in connection with Art Without Borders 2024. At the talk, Elín and curator Unnur Mjöll S. Leifsdóttir will explore the core topics and themes of Elín’s artistic output.
The exhibition presents works that span Elín’s entire career, from the early days of her artistic practice to the present, but she often works with fantastical imagery, in addition to drawing on the self and self-representation in various ways in her work, channelling her artistry through both words and visuals. Elín also has a great passion for theatre and performance, having been involved with the theatre troupe Tjarnarleikhúsið for years, as well as publishing poetry and working on stage production in various capacities, including stage and costume design.
