Sunday April 12th at 1-3 p.m., Hafnarborg and GETA invite participants to a multilingual spirit catcher workshop led by artists Mariana Samarska and Anne Rombach. The workshop will be held in Icelandic, Ukrainian, English and German.

Join us for a creative and grounding art workshop where we craft unique spirit catchers using natural materials and decorative elements. All materials will be provided, but participants are warmly encouraged to bring any special items – such as feathers, fabrics, or found objects, they’d like to weave into their creation – making it even more personal.

Each spirit catcher carries with it something wild – not only as decoration, but to protect, to guide and to inspire. Let the spirits and bad dreams pass…

The workshop will take place on the ground floor of the museum. It’s open to individuals of all ages and skill levels, but children should be accompanied by a parent or guardian. As always, participation in workshops and entrance to the museum’s exhibitions is free of charge.

In My Language  is an event program focused on making Hafnarborg more accessible to people of different backgrounds by welcoming guests to the museum in various languages. The event is a collaboration between Hafnarborg and nonprofit organization GETA that works to build a more tolerant and inclusive society through a wide range of activities. The program is supported by the Museum Fund.

Моєю мовою – Багатомовний творчий майстер-клас: «Ловці духів»

У неділю, 12 квітня, з 13:00 до 15:00 Hafnarborg та GETA запрошують сім’ї, які розмовляють ісландською, українською, англійською та німецькою мовами, взяти участь у майстер-класі з виготовлення «ловців духів», який проведуть мисткині Mariana Samarska та Anne Rombach.

Запрошуємо вас на креативний майстер-клас із створення унікальних «ловців духів» з природних матеріалів та декоративних елементів. Усі матеріали будуть надані, але ми щиро заохочуємо учасників принести з собою будь-які особливі предмети – наприклад, пір’я, натуральне каміння, шматочки тканини чи будь-які природні матеріали (знайдені на прогулянці в лісі наприклад) – які ви хотіли б вплести у свою роботу, щоб зробити її ще більш індивідуальною.

Кожен ловець духів – природний і дикий. Він служить не лише прикрасою, а й захистом, дороговказом та джерелом натхнення. Нехай непрохані духи та кошмари проходять повз…
