Sunday December 14th at 1-3 p.m., we will come together to create a giant cardboard “carpet” covered with colourful body outlines, as each participant lies down on a large sheet of cardboard while a partner traces their body shape using bright chalk pastels. Everyone can then decorate the outline with patterns and colours that express their personality. As more shapes are added, the cardboard transforms into a vibrant collage of different bodies, sizes, poses and colours.
The carpet celebrates our collective presence in times of togetherness and days of celebration. This activity encourages creativity, cooperation, body awareness and appreciation of diversity, while children and grownups see themselves becoming part of a community artwork. The workshop is led by artists Hugo Llanes and Anne Rombach in Spanish, Icelandic, English and German.
We’ll enjoy our time together with delicious Mexican fruit punch and some fun games, as well as cookies that could use a colourful finishing touch…!
Hugo Llanes is a Mexican artist based in Reykjavík, working with a range of media including installations and performances. He holds an MA in Fine Arts from the Iceland University of the Arts.
Anne Rombach studied photography at the Academy of Fine Arts in Leipzig and graduated with an MA degree in Fine Art from the Iceland University of the Arts where she is currently studying “Arts and Wellbeing”.
In My Language is an event programme focused on making Hafnarborg more accessible to people of different backgrounds by welcoming guests to the museum in various languages. The event is a collaboration between Hafnarborg and GETA – Nonprofit Organisation that works to build a more tolerant and inclusive society through a wide range of activities. The programme is supported by the Museum Fund.
The workshop will take place on the ground floor of the museum. It’s open to individuals of all ages and skill levels, but children should be accompanied by a parent or guardian. As always, participation in workshops and entrance to the museum’s exhibitions is free of charge.
El domingo 14 de diciembre, de 13:00 a 15:00, nos reuniremos para crear una gran “alfombra” de cartón cubierta con coloridas siluetas corporales: la actividad consiste en que cada participante se recuesta sobre una gran alfombra de cartón mientras otra persona traza la forma de su cuerpo usando tizas de colores. Luego, cada quien podrá decorar su silueta con patrones y colores que expresen su personalidad. A medida que se añadan más participantes y formas, el cartón se transformará en un vibrante collage de distintos cuerpos, tamaños, poses y colores.
La alfombra celebra nuestra presencia colectiva en tiempos de unión y días de celebración. Esta actividad fomenta la creatividad, la cooperación, la conciencia corporal y la apreciación de la diversidad, mientras niños y adultos se ven a sí mismos convirtiéndose en parte de una obra de arte comunitario – taller dirigido español, islandés, inglés y alemán por los artistas Hugo Llanes y Anne Rombach.
Disfrutaremos nuestro tiempo juntos con un ponche de frutas mexicano y algunos juegos, ¡y también unas galletas que podrían necesitar un toque final de color…!
Hugo Llanes es un artista mexicano radicado en Reikiavik que trabaja con diversos medios, incluidas instalaciones y performances. Tiene una maestría en Bellas Artes por la Universidad de las Artes de Islandia.
Anne Rombach estudió fotografía en la Academia de Bellas Artes de Leipzig y obtuvo una maestría en Bellas Artes por la Universidad de las Artes de Islandia, donde actualmente cursa “Artes y bienestar”.
En Mi Idioma es un programa de eventos enfocado en hacer que Hafnarborg sea más accesible para personas de diferentes orígenes, dando la bienvenida a visitantes al museo en diversos idiomas. El evento es una colaboración entre Hafnarborg y GETA – una organización sin fines de lucro que trabaja por una sociedad más tolerante e inclusiva a través de una amplia gama de actividades. El programa cuenta con el apoyo del Fondo de Museos.
El taller tendrá lugar en la planta baja del museo. Está abierto a personas de todas las edades y niveles de habilidad, pero los niños deben estar acompañados por un padre, madre o tutor. Como siempre, la participación en los talleres y la entrada a las exposiciones del museo es gratuita.
