Wednesday July 13th at 8 p.m., Bryndís Björgvinsdóttir, author, historian and ethnologist, and Aldís Arnardóttir, Director of Hafnarborg, will lead a walk through town, seeking the dwellings of fantastical beings and wondering about the elves living in the rocks. The walking group will set out from Hafnarborg, finally ending back at the museum, with a guided tour of the retrospective of Gunnar Örn Gunnarsson’s works, currently on exhibit at Hafnarborg.
The exhibition In the Depths of Your Own Awareness features works spanning the artist Gunnar Örn Gunnarsson’s career, of almost forty years, during which he went through a number of transformations and changed his style a few times. Gunnar Örn was an extremely prolific artist and left a great many artworks: drawings, monotypes, paintings, sculptures and watercolours, as well as works created with mixed technique. The exhibition is curated by Aldís Arnardóttir
