Saturday October 10th at 2:30 p.m., students from the music department of the Iceland University of the Arts will host a special event, under the name of music ensemble Skerpla, in connection with Davíð Brynjar Franzson’s exhibition, An Urban Archive as an English Garden, currently on view at Hafnarborg.
The Students of the music department, under the guidance of professor Berglind María Tómasdóttir, have delved into the concept, ideas and approach of Davíð’s exhibition, seeking ways to engage with and activate the exhibition, as a part of its programme of live events.
The event will be streamed live on Hafnarborg’s Facebook page (see the player here below), due to the temporary closing of the museum for public health reasons.
Skerpla is an experimental music ensemble, active within the Iceland University of the Arts, being founded in the autumn of 2018. Skerpla explores, creates and performs experimental music, with the aim of expanding traditional ideas of music. The students that participate in Skerpla, at this time, are Alvar Rosell Martin, Ana Luisa S. Diaz De Cossio, Freya Betzy Dinesen Simmons, Khetsin Chuchan and Robin Morabito.
