Saxophonists Stefan Karl Schmid and Sigurður Flosason will perform with their very own quintet at Hafnarborg on Friday September 24th at 6 p.m. Joining them will be guitarist Andrés Þór, contrabassist Nico Moreaux and drummer Einar Scheving. The programme will include music by the saxophone players themselves, as well as known jazz standards.
This will be the first concert of the season in the Hafnarborg Afternoon Concert series, but the series began its run last autumn, enjoying much success and enriching the cultural life in Hafnarfjörður, as well as being nominated for The Icelandic Music Awards in the field of jazz and blues music. The concert series is supported by the Rannís Music Fund, the town of Hafnarfjörður and the FÍH Culture Fund.
