Friday December 5th at 6 p.m., jazz singer Silva Þórðardóttir will perform at the next Afternoon Concert at Hafnarborg, accompanied by Þorgrímur Jónsson on double bass and Andrés Þór Gunnlaugsson on guitar. The programme will feature a mix of festive holiday music along with well-known jazz standards.

Silva Þórðardóttir studied jazz vocals at the FÍH Music School and released her standards album Skylark in 2019. Since then, she has collaborated with many of Iceland’s leading jazz musicians, received three nominations for the Icelandic Music Awards for jazz vocals and frequently performed with the vocal ensemble Jazzkonur. Together with Steingrímur Teague, as Silva & Steini, she released the acclaimed album More Than You Know in 2022, which has now been streamed over six million times. Their Christmas album Christmas with Silva & Steini came out last holiday season, followed by More Understanding in September of this year.

The concert lasts for approximately one hour and admission is free.
