Friday April 14th at 6 p.m., ASA Tríó will perform at the next Afternoon Concert at Hafnarborg, accompanied by saxophonist Jóel Pálsson, but together they will perform material from an album they released last year. The album, recorded in early 2020 when everything stood still for a time, is titled Another Time, but it was recently named Album of the Year 2022 in the field of jazz at The Icelandic Music Award.
ASA Tríó was formed in 2005, but the trio has released two albums, as well as live recordings that are accessible on the trio’s website. The trio is made up of guitarist Andrés Þór, organist and keyboard player Agnar Már Magnússon and drummer Scott McLemore.
The concert lasts for approximately one hour and admission is free.
The concert series is supported by the town of Hafnarfjörður, the Rannís Music Fund and the FÍH Culture Fund.
