On International Jazz Day, Thursday April 30th at 6 p.m., a quartet led by Spanish saxophonist Albert Cirera will perform at the next Afternoon Concert at Hafnarborg.

In recent years, Albert Cirera has been active on the European improvised music scene, taking part in numerous recordings and performing at festivals and concerts across Europe and beyond. He has lived and worked in cities such as Barcelona, Lisbon and Copenhagen, collaborating with a diverse range of musicians from different backgrounds.
The programme will feature a mix of jazz standards and original compositions by Cirera, with space for improvisation and open musical interplay. Alongside Albert, who plays tenor saxophone, will be Andrés Þór on guitar, Snorri Skúlason on double bass and Scott McLemore on drums.
The concert lasts for approximately one hour and admission is free.
The concert series is supported by the town of Hafnarfjörður and the FÍH Culture Fund.
