Oddur Arnþór Jónsson

Thuesday, November 3rd at 12 noon. Bariton singer Oddur Arnþór Jónsson, will perform at Hafnarborg along with pianist Antonia Hevesi. At the concert, which bears the name curious name Villans and Victims, Oddur and Hevesi will perform arias by G. Donizetti og Mozart.

Oddur Arnþór Jónsson, studied under Ólöf Kolbrú Harðardóttir and Alex Ashworth at the Reykjavik School of Singing. He recieved a masters degree from the Universität Mozarteum í Salzburg, Austurríki and recieved the Lilli Lehmann-award for an exellent masters-test in opera-singing. Last fall he sang for the first time at the Icelandic opera the part for Rodrigo in Don Carlo, and as chosen The Brightest Hope at the Icelandic Music Awards. Now Oddur performs in Figaro’s Wedding at the Icelandic Opera and sings the part of Figaro himself.

Antonía Hevesi, pianist, has from the beginning been the artistic director of the Noon Concerts in Hafnarborg and choosen many of Iceland’s best singers to perform with her.

The Hafnarborg’s Noon Concerts are held monthly. The begin at 12 noon and are about 30 minutes long. They are open to all. Before the concert Hafnarborg opens their doors at 11.30 a.m.
